SBGA, an organization dedicated to helping small businesses succeed, has announced the launch of the SBGA Scholarship, a new $2,500 award for students interested in pursuing careers in business, entrepreneurship, or the nonprofit sector.
The scholarship is open to eligible students across the United States, with applications being accepted through January 31, 2027, at sbgascholarship.com.
For nearly two decades, SBGA has worked closely with small-business owners, helping them navigate the challenges of running and growing a business. Founded by entrepreneurs who understand those challenges firsthand, the organization recognizes that getting started is often one of the biggest hurdles. Turning an idea into something meaningful takes hard work, determination, and access to opportunities.
Through the new scholarship, SBGA hopes to support students who share that entrepreneurial spirit and want to make a positive impact in their communities.
“We know how much hard work goes into starting something of your own, whether that’s a business, a nonprofit or an initiative that helps your community,” said Nathan Jurczyk, SBGA’s Vice President. “We’ve spent years helping small-business owners work toward their goals, and we wanted to find a way to extend that same support to the next generation. This scholarship is one way we can help students take that next step.”
The scholarship is also a natural extension of SBGA’s ongoing charitable efforts. Over the years, the organization has contributed more than $300,000 in donations and volunteer support to causes including Make-A-Wish, Boys & Girls Clubs, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Doctors Without Borders.
More recently, SBGA expanded its community giving with a $10,000 donation to the Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation of Nevada, continued support for CASA’s holiday gift drive for children in foster care, and a contribution to Three Square, a hunger relief organization serving Southern Nevada.
The SBGA Scholarship builds on that commitment by investing directly in students who hope to build businesses, lead organizations, and give back to the communities around them.
Scholarship Eligibility and Application Details
The SBGA Scholarship will award $2,500 to one eligible student. Applications are open to U.S. citizens who meet the following criteria:
- High school seniors planning to enroll in college during the next academic year, or current undergraduate or graduate students attending an accredited U.S. college or university.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- An academic or career focus on business, entrepreneurship, or the nonprofit and charitable sector.
As part of the application, students are asked to submit an original essay reflecting on a challenge they have overcome, how that experience has influenced their commitment to giving back, and how the scholarship would help them achieve their future goals.
Applications are open through January 31, 2027, and the selected recipient will be notified via email.
